NOW WE’RE SUPPOSED TO EAT CHEESE

A recent study published in the journal Nature Medicine reported that eating cheese – specifically the aged kind containing the compound spermidine, as found in blue cheese – was linked to a longer life in mammals when tested on mice. The mice lived longer when their drinking water was supplemented with spermidine. Also, they had healthier cardiac function, according to the study from the University of Graz in Austria. The study also observed 800 Italians and found that those who ate more cheese had lower blood pressure, a reduced risk of cardiovascular disease and 40 percent lower risk of heart failure.
* Mmmmm … spermidine.
* Get ready for the Blue Cheese Stuffed Crust Pizza.
* It’s offical … everything we thought we knew is wrong.
* I’m just going to cram a 10-pound block of cheddar into the turkey and use it as stuffing.
* Next up: bacon is the key to a healthier life.
* Now the other health journals have declared war on Nature Medicine.
* So wine, chocolate and cheese are now all good. It’s going to be a great Thanksgiving after all.
* There was one bad side effect from feeding bleu cheese’s spermidine to mice: Their breath was terrible.
