NO PRIVACY IN THE AGE OF DRONES, NOT EVEN ON TOP OF A WIND TURBINE

Have you seen the video of the mystery guy apparently sunbathing on top of a 200-foot-tall wind turbine? Here’s the story. Brother Joseph Byron is a Benedictine monk in Rhode Island. Since the nearby wind turbine was installed in 2006, he’s been climbing to the top of it to get some monk-like solitude. But last week, Kevin Miller, on vacation from California, decided to fly his video drone around the wind turbine, and caught footage of Joseph the monk on top of the turbine. The video went viral, and as a result, Brother Byron says he’s now hearing from everyone on the planet. He says seeing the drone was a little annoying since he climbs the turbine when he wants to be alone.
* Welcome to the new normal.
* I’d like to see that drone try and get through those turbine blades.
* And that’s when the drone got attacked by an eagle.
* You saw that one right? Drone videos are the latest thing – they’re the new version of the cat chasing the flashlight beam.
* Now Kim Kardashian wants a drone for her selfies.
* I guess Brother Byron wanted to be closer to God so climbing 200 feet up was a start.
