NINE BRAINS FOUND ON ROAD

Nine brains inexplicably appeared last week along a street in Gouverneur, New York. How the brains got there and where they came from remains a mystery. Residents discovered the brains and called the police. The brains were taken to a local veterinarian for an examination, who determined they had been professionally removed – likely from a dog – and preserved in formaldehyde. Although a chemistry professor at Clarkson University later said the specimen was possibly from a sheep, not a dog. Regardless, police said the nine brains are believed to have been part of a collection for educational or research purposes and no criminal activity, other than littering, is suspected.
* Maybe they were making a break for it.
* At first they thought someone was setting a trap for zombie dogs.
* The creepy part? The brains were arranged to spell out “I smell bacon.”
* No, actually, they were forming a line to a fire hydrant.
* That university professor seems to know a little too much about the brains, don’t you think?
* Wasn’t this a film with Joe Pesci?
* Sure, “Nine Brains in a Duffel Bag.”
* Umm, thanks but we’re not doing the Halloween stories now. It’s still summer.
* They could be for educational purposes? Well, thank God I didn’t take that class.
* I was turned off enough by the frog’s legs.
* Well, this was a nice change. Now, I’m ready to get back to the stories of mystery feet appearing on beaches.
