NEWLYWEDS DIVORCE DURING THE RECEPTION OVER A SONG
A man in Baghdad divorced his wife at the wedding reception after she requested and danced to a song at their wedding and caused a huge family fight. According to local reports, during their wedding celebration the woman requested a Syrian song called “Mesaytara.” The title translates to “I Will Control You.” The song begins with the lyrics: “I am dominant; you will be ruled under my strict instructions / I will drive you crazy if you look at other girls on the street / As long as you’re with me, you’ll walk under my command.” (* Catchy!) The bride was reportedly dancing to the song, but the groom’s family were unhappy with the song, resulting in a huge fight between the two families, and the couple called it quits.
* “After the wedding night,” added the groom.
* Ah, music: Bringing people together.
* After it was over, the groom’s family invaded Syria.
* The DJ’s thinking, “Whatever. I got paid in advance.”
* Meanwhile, the song’s a total ripoff of the Rolling Stones’ “Under My Thumb.”
