MONK CUTS OFF OWN HEAD, FOR GOOD LUCK

A Buddhist monk in Thailand chopped off his own head in hopes the gruesome sacrifice would bring him luck in the afterlife. Thammakorn Wangpreecha, 68, a monk for 11 years, built a guillotine near a religious statue portraying the god Indra doing the same thing. The monk’s nephew, who found the decapitated body, said he left behind a note that stated chopping his head off was his way of praising Buddha, and he had been planning to do this for five years. His wish was to offer his head and soul so the Lord could reincarnate him as a higher spiritual being in the next life.
* If he wasn’t enlightened before, he is now that he found out it didn’t work.
* This takes littering to a whole new level.
* You know, I’m sure God likes a nice fruit basket as much as a severed head, if your heart is in it. Well, not literally. You know what I mean.
* If he’s so into losing his head, maybe in the next life he can come back as a praying mantis and let nature take its course.
* What a head case.
