MISSING CAT WAS THREE DOORS DOWN FOR THREE YEARS
A missing cat has sparked a conflict between two Illinois families. Joey, the 8-year-old all-white Himalayan, was listed missing by his owner Nichole Milone on September 27, 2013. He had a microchip, but no collar. Then, on April 29 of this year, Milone discovered Joey living three doors away from her home with Shawnie and Steve Godke, who had cared for the cat since finding him in 2013. Shawnie Godke said the cat was constantly trying to come into their home for months upon months upon months. It refused to go away and they decided to take in the cat after being unable to contact his owners even after having his microchip scanned. Meanwhile, Milone assumed Joey was probably taken by a coyote. “What is the possibility that my cat is three doors down from my house this whole time?” Milone spotted him in the Godke’s garden and confirmed his identity by scanning his chip, but the Godkes refuse to let the cat go. What to do? Well, this is America. Both parties have hired lawyers and seek custody of the cat.
* And you just know the vet who scanned the cat but couldn’t read the chip is going to get sued in the end.
* You can’t tell me the cat didn’t plan this.
* Anyway, the cat’s made his choice.
* Joey is an 8-year-old, all-white, UNGRATEFUL Himalayan.
* I know what Solomon would say.
* Can’t somebody just get another cat? Is there a cat shortage I am not aware of?
* Wait till the original owners get the bill for three years of cat food.
* Then there’s the vet bills and the cost of housing the beast.
* This is where pet cloning would really help.
* They just listed the cat missing but didn’t talk to their neighbors about it? What’s happened to communicating in this country?
