MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE FOUND 22 YEARS LATER, JUST 18 MILES AWAY
Stephen Caulfield, 44, said he was single and living in Rostrevor, Northern Ireland, when he wrote a message reading: “I am 22 years old. Please write to me if you are a girl. Thanks!” He put the message into a bottle and threw it into the Carlingford Lough on Jan. 5, 1999. Last week – 22 years later – his bottle was found on the shore in Dundrum, Ireland, only about 18 miles from where he threw it into the water. And he’s now married with three kids.
* Guy needs to work on his throwing arm, that’s for sure.
* Message didn’t travel very far. Like it’s author. Sad.
* Meanwhile, the bottle’s thinking: “I just can’t get away from this guy!”
* See? Life works out. Well, not for the ocean that’s polluted with discarded bottles. But for most people, yeah.
