MECHANIC ACCIDENTALLY BLOWS UP FIGHTER JET

A mechanic with the Belgian Air Force was servicing an aircraft when he accidentally opened fire on another F-16 jet fighter sitting on the tarmac in front of the plane he was working on, destroying the other fighter. The incident occurred on Belgium’s Florennes air force base last Thursday. The mechanic managed to fire off a six-barrel 20 mm Vulcan M61A-1 cannon, hitting another fully-fueled F-16. Both aircraft were being prepped for a sortie. The explosion damaged two other F-16s. Nobody was killed, but one technician incurred hearing impairment.
