MAN STARTS MOVING AT HIS OWN FUNERAL

In Lucknow, India, a man who had been declared dead started moving during his own funeral ceremony. Mohammad Furqan, 20, had been unconscious and on life support since June 21st when he got into an accident. After ten days in a private hospital, doctors declared him dead on July 1st – coincidentally, it seemed at first, after the man’s family told the hospital they no longer had the funds to pay for his care. The family held a funeral last Tuesday. His grave was dug and the family were preparing him for burial when mourners saw movement in his limbs. They immediately took Furqan to another hospital where the doctors found a pulse, blood pressure and saw his reflexes are working so they put him back on ventilator support, saying he is in critical condition but definitely not brain dead. The city’s chief medical officer says that an investigation is underway into the country’s medical practices.
* The investigation’s first question: what does the word “medical” mean?
* “Lucknow” India? Boy, I’ll say.
* He’s a lucky stiff – literally.
* Man, I wish I could sleep this good.
* See, there’s a difference between “dead” and “dead broke”.
