MAN MASHED BY MUSHROOMS
A man has died after being crushed by pallets of mushrooms at a plant in central Florida. 45-year-old Bruce Edward Stephenson Jr. of Tavares was moving the pallets Monday with a forklift at the Monterey Mushrooms Inc. plant in Zellwood when the pallets began swaying. Stephenson jumped off the forklift, but the pallets fell on him before he could get away. He was taken to a hospital, where he died.
* Well, he was in the ‘mush’ room.
* Smothered in mushrooms. What a delicious way to go.
* The weird part? These mushrooms were not supposed to be deadly.
* Workers described Mr. Stephenson as – wait for it – a real fun guy.
* They plan to remember him by ordering some mushroom pizzas for lunch.
* From lifting up mushrooms to pushing up daisies.
* Usually the stories out of Florida are more “up” than this.
* Okay, I’m not counting the bath salt stories.
* Let’s turn this into a real Florida story, okay?
* The man was moving mushrooms on a forklift when he was attacked by an alligator.
* Then a co-worker on bath salts bit the alligator’s face off.
