MAN LEARNS HIS TOOTHBRUSH HOLDER IS 4,000-YEAR OLD-POTTERY

Karl Martin, a 49-year-old collector from England, bought a clay jar at a flea market for $5 about five years ago. The jar featured a primitive drawing of an antelope. He used the pot as a toothbrush holder for the last several years. But recently, Mr. Martin, who works for Hansons Auctioneers, spotted an Afghani antique pot at work that looked similar to his toothbrush pot. He had his own professionally appraised and was shocked to find that his toothbrush holder was a genuine antiquity from Afghanistan and dated back to 1,900 BC., almost 4,000 years ago. He ended up auctioning the pot off, where it sold for $100.
* $100? What an insult. Lucky the guy who made it is dead.
* A 4,000-year-old pot – $100. An ounce of pot – $320. Weird world we live in, huh?
* Imagine learning that your toothbrush holder you bought for $5 is actually a 4,000-year-old toothbrush holder.
* I don’t believe this story. A British man who takes care of his teeth? Fake news!
