MAN INTERRUPTS MARRIAGE PROPOSAL TO SUBDUE ROBBER

Nicholas Anderson found the perfect place to pop the question to his girlfriend last Tuesday – Salsarita’s Mexican restaurant in Hickory, North Carolina. As Anderson worked up the courage to ask Deanna Deal’s hand in marriage, he noticed a man getting physical with a restaurant employee. Anderson interrupted his proposal, ran over and subdued the man by his neck. Turns out, that man – later identified as Graham Kiziah – was robbing the restaurant. An off-duty police officer, who had just finished his meal at Salsarita’s, noticed the commotion from the parking lot. He re-entered the restaurant to help subdue the suspect. He put his big proposal on hold for awhile, but tried again a few hours later in a local park. She said yes.
* “But only if you put me in that headlock thing,” she added with a wink.
* “Deanna, will you marry m— hold that thought.”
* The park was a better place for proposing. The robber did him a favor.
* Let’s just hope he doesn’t mix the Miranda rights up with his wedding vows.
* One thing that’ll never come up in a marriage: the right to remain silent.
* So both him and the robber are now on their honeymoons, only one’s a prison bride.
* He put the collar on the robber and the ring on her.
