MAN DOESN’T SHOW UP FOR WORK FOR 15 YEARS
A hospital employee in Italy is accused of skipping work on full pay for 15 years. The man was a civil servant, and was assigned to a job at a hospital in the city of Catanzaro in 2005. It was at this point he stopped going into work. His manager noticed, and filed a disciplinary report against him. But the manager soon retired, and her successor never knew about the absent worker. He was reportedly paid the equivalent of about $538,000 in total over the years he never showed up for work. He is now being investigated for fraud, extortion and abuse of office.
* And fully half of the U.S. Congress is thinking, “Pffff. Amateur.”
* The country of Greece is awarding him a medal.
* Somewhere in a hospital in Catanzaro is a patient whose bedpan hasn’t been changed since 2005.
* In America, we go to our jobs, we just don’t show up mentally.
