MAN DIES IN PRISON FOR LISTENING TO THE RADIO TOO LOUD
An 83-year-old Liverpool, England man died in prison. He was in jail for playing his radio too loud in his home. Ian Trainer had been repeatedly jailed in recent years. It started when he was was given a restraining order in 2019 which prohibited him from playing the classical music station over the level of 65 decibels between the hours of 9am and 10pm. He was eventually jailed for not following the order, then released, then jailed repeatedly for the same thing. Trainer told one arresting officer, “I like playing music at a level I enjoy.” He also claimed to be unable to hear out of one ear and was unable to wear earphones due to being on steroids for a medical condition. Yet one neighbor of his, Irene Preston, said: “This didn’t happen just recently. This had been going on for years and he wasn’t interested in changing. It is sad that he has died but the solution was in his own hands and he refused to change.” He died in a prison hospital on November 23.
* You may know Irene Preston by her other name, Karen.
* Hey, if it’s too loud, you’re too old.
* Maybe the steroids gave him music rage?
* Did he realize there’s some QUIET classical music? Like harps?
* I guess following rules was not his forte’. That’s a classical music joke.
* But imagine being a neighbor and having to listen to those same classic songs over and over again. Over and over and over again. The same songs. The same classic songs from ages and ages ago. Over and over. Anyway, here’s Tom Petty.
