MAN CHARGED FOR USING GUN AS A HAMMER IN AN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

A man has been charged with unlawful use of a weapon and child endangerment after police say he used a handgun as a hammer while working on a project at a Benton, Missouri elementary school. 45-year-old Jeffrey Grubbs was volunteering at Kelly Elementary School last Monday when he held the handgun’s barrel and used the butt of the weapon to drive a thumbtack into a wood plaque. Police say Grubbs has a concealed-carry permit, but it’s illegal to bring a gun onto school property without consent from a school official.
* The sad thing is, he had to borrow the gun from one of the students.
* Aren’t schools teaching creative thinking any more? Doesn’t this qualify?
* There’s got to be a new proverb from this if we try hard enough.
* I know: “If you have a handgun every problem looks like a thumbtack.”
* Nope, it still needs work.
* The sad thing was the wood plaque was an award for school safety.
