LOOSE EMU CAPTURED IN DELAWARE
After more than two months on the loose in rural Delaware, a six-foot-tall emu named Eddie has been captured by employees from a petting zoo. He’s been transported to a farm and will be put up for adoption. Eddie the emu showed up on a farm in Odessa, Delaware, over two months ago and evaded many attempts at capture. He was described as “very crafty.” His origin is mysterious: Delaware Department of Agriculture officials were unable to identify an owner at any nearby emu farms.
* Would YOU admit to owning an emu? Emus are not exactly chick magnets.
* How’d they know his name was Eddie?
* Emu farms? What – in case you’re tired of turkey for Thanksgiving?
* Do they even make ovens that big?
* Wow, 2 months in Delaware is enough to cover the whole state 10 times.
* I spent 2 months in Delaware myself one weekend.
* Name the comedy icon who said something like that before. Hint: It was about Philadelphia.
* If you guessed W.C. Field, you win.
* Now an emu running around Delaware? That sounds more like a Marx Brothers movie.
