LITHUANIAN MAN HAD KILO OF METAL IN STOMACH

A Lithuanian man has had more than two pounds (1 kilogram) of nails, screws, nuts and knives removed from his stomach by doctors. The man was brought by ambulance with severe abdominal pain to the hospital in the city of Klaipėda. He had been swallowing metal objects for a month after quitting alcohol, doctors said. Some of the metal objects retrieved during a surgery were 4 inches long (10cm). He is now reported to be in a stable condition, and is being monitored.
