LEGO THIEF GETS 45 YEARS – June 15

If you’re gonna steal, don’t steal Legos. A Texas man accused of swiping more than 200 Lego sets during a 50-day multi-state crime spree was given a hefty 45-year prison sentence. Winston Love, 28, received the stiff sentence after being convicted of making off with hundreds of the pricey Lego kits from multiple Target stores in North Texas and Oklahoma last year. Prosecutors said the stolen goods were valued at more than $30,000.
* And besides, the judge’s kid really wanted that Lego X-Wing Kit that was stolen before he could buy it.
* Legos worth more than $30,000? So, about three kits, then?
* Murderers have gotten less time.
* And how about the people at Target who are supposed to control shoplifting? He got 45 years in prison … that’s until 2071. Do they get, like, a write-up in their personnel file?
* From Lego blocks to cell blocks.
(Note: $30,000 worth of Legos. Guess how much ChatGPT says it will cost Texas taxpayers to imprison this man for 45 years? Answer: $1.3–$1.6 million, probably more when you add in healthcare and inflation. What’s wrong with this picture?)
