KIM JONG UN DISLIKES K-POP MUSIC

Kim Jong Un, benevolent leader of North – and by far the Best – Korea, is cracking down on K-pop music. According to new documents smuggled out of the country, Kim Jong calls the music from South Korea a “vicious cancer” corrupting North Korean youths’ “attire, hairstyles, speeches, behaviors.” In what you might call an overreaction, Kim introduced new laws in December stipulating that anyone caught watching or possessing South Korean content could be sentenced to up to 15 years of hard labor. In addition, K-pop smugglers could even face execution. Korean slang has also started to infiltrate everyday conversation, with North Korean women increasingly calling their boyfriends “oppa” — a term for “honey” popularized by South Korean dramas — rather than the state-mandated “comrade.”
* So that’s why the most popular reality show in North Korea is Comrade Boo-Boo.
* K-pop is corrupting North Korean hairstyles? He should talk.
* He’s also not crazy about the fact that all the K-pop kids are prettier than him.
* I’m no fan of oppression, but when it comes to K-Pop… you know, I think he might be on to something.
* These dictators just don’t get it. If you’re the guy who brings K-Pop, or Rock & Roll, or new fashions to the kids, that entire generation will love you forever. Instead, you’ll just become John Lithgow in “Footloose.”
