JEWELRY STORE ROBBERS ESCAPE ON MOPEDS
A group of smash-and-grab thieves used a van to smash into the front of a Tiffany’s jewelry store in London – and then they came into the store riding mopeds, swiping several items from the high-end jewelry retailer. The raid happened around 3 a.m. The robbers scooped up a number of items from Tiffany’s window display and scooted off. They left the van behind. The haul was worth less than a million pounds – equivalent to about $1.3 million
* Not exactly The Italian Job.
* In hindsight, display windows for jewelry stores might not be such a great idea.
* You know, a kid on a Schwinn could’ve caught up with them.
* Maybe with the loot, they can buy Segways for the next job.
* On the bright side, Tiffany’s got a slightly used van out of the deal.
