ITALIAN MAN HID MONEY STASH IN CHIMNEY

A man in Rome, Italy, concerned about burglary in his apartment building, hid his savings – about 20,000 Euros in government bonds – in the chimney. But he didn’t —- ahh, you’re way ahead of me, aren’t you? — but he didn’t tell anyone else in the house about his hiding place. It got cold, and his wife lit a fire. The unnamed man said, “Each year, before we use the fire during the winter, I used to move them. This time I didn’t do it in time.” He was told there is still hope he can recoup his losses if he finds the original serial numbers on what’s left of the bonds.
* There’s nothing like hot Italian bread.
* Between the screaming and the chimney smoke, the neighborhood thought there was a new pope.
* How does he know Santa Claus didn’t swipe the bonds and set the fire as a distraction?
* Hey, at least he doesn’t have to worry about burglars any more.
* Where does he hide the money during the summer? In the snow blower?
