INSIDE TRADER CAUGHT AFTER GOOGLING "INSIDER TRADING"

A Massachusetts man has been arrested for insider trading. Fei Yan, a research scientist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and 31-year-old Chinese citizen, allegedly earned roughly $120,000 last year from two corporate mergers based on information he learned from his wife, who worked as an associate at Linklaters, the firm handling the merger. But what really sealed the deal was, during the investigation, officials found Mr. Yan had googled “How Securities Exchange Commission detects unusual trade” and “Insider trading with international account” and an article titled “Want to Commit Insider Trading? Here’s How Not to Do It.”
* He must have skimmed that last article.
* But now he can make a few bucks writing his own “Insider Trading – How Not To Do It.”
* He should have googled “erase search history”.
* Dude – this is why libraries have computers.
* It’s about time the SEC cracks down on MIT research scientists, instead of wasting time on those Wall Street billionaires.
* Now he’s going to have uncomfortable mergers with his cellmate.
