Billionaire Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and fiancee Lauren Sanchez will get married this week. Here is what the gossip magazines say will be happening:
– The wedding celebration will take place over a handful of days this week in the Italian city of Venice.
– Approximately 200 people are attending, according to reports. (* My invitation must have got lost in the mail.)
– The invitation requested no gifts. Instead, the couple will donate to the city of Venice on their guests’ behalf.
– Guests will stay at the city’s most expensive hotels, like The Gritti Palace, Hotel Cipriani, and Aman. Rooms at these properties can cost upward of $10,000 a night.
– Three days of events will have a price tag of around $10 million, which equates to about $50,000 per person, though some believe the wedding could potentially be in the $15 million to $20 million range.
– The official ceremony will take place on Bezos’ $500 million yacht, which will be anchored in the Venetian lagoon.
– The Venetian island of San Giorgio Maggiore has been booked.
– 30 water taxis have been reserved for the wedding festivities.
– Local vendors will be utilized. Pastry company Rosa Salva has been hired to bake treats for guest gift bags. Glassware design company Laguna B is also making gifts for the guests.
