INDIAN VILLAGES WEAR BEAR COSTUMES TO SCARE OFF MONKEYS

Villagers in India being terrorized by more than 2,000 wild monkeys think they have found a solution – by dressing up as bears. Villagers in Sikandarpur in Uttar Pradesh donated money to buy three costumes for 1,700 Indian Rupees ($23.82) each. The villagers take turns in the costumes, scaring away the monkeys. The Sikandarpuris now claim the trick has led to a drastic dip in monkey attacks. The article notes that last year, a farmer in Thirthahalli, India, painted his pet dog with tiger stripes to protect his coffee crop from thieving monkeys.
* At $23.82 each, you just know those are terrific bear costumes.
* The costumes are cheap because they were in the lost-and-found from a Furries convention in Mumbai.
* Why don’t they just get some guy’s hairy Uncle Mukesh to come in and take off his shirt?
