INDIAN DIAMOND MERCHANT GIVES A CAR TO EACH OF HIS 600 EMPLOYEES
A diamond merchant gave a car to each of his 600 employees on Thursday. Six hundred employees of Hari Krishna Exporters, a diamond trading company run by Savji Dholakia, received cars made by Indian manufacturer Maruti Suzuki. A thousand more staff were offered gifts of cash deposits and apartments. Indians often give each other gifts in the run-up to Diwali, a major Hindu festival celebrating the triumph of good over evil that this year falls on Nov. 7. Mr. Dholakia is famous across India for giving lavish gifts to his employees at Diwali, including hundreds of apartments in 2016’s ceremony. The showroom value of the 600 cars would be more than $2 million.
* Your move, Oprah.
* $2 million divided by 600 is $3,300 per car. So, everyone gets a used 2007 Ford Focus.
* The cars were only $750,000, but it was another million and a quarter for the undercoating.
* Imagine the deal he could have gotten if he’d waited until end of model year savings.
* Sadly, the parking lot at Hari Krishna Exporters only has 80 parking spaces.
* The triumph of good over evil? On THIS planet?
