HUSBAND WANTS TO HELP WIFE WHO WANTED HIM DEAD
In Hartselle, Alabama, Sarah Shepard is accused of paying an undercover cop to kill her husband, Richard Shepard. She even made a down payment. Hartselle police told Richard what she was doing, and helped him fake his own death to help them charge her. But now, Richard is asking Morgan County Circuit Judge Glenn Thompson to reduce Sarah’s $500,000 bond. Why? Because he still loves her. Mr. Shepard told the judge that there isn’t any way his wife could have devised the scheme without it being suggested to her by the undercover officer. He said she can hardly put together a weekly grocery list (* He must like ’em pretty and dumb). Thompson said he’s inclined to consider reducing the bond. He told the defense attorney to refile a motion for a mental evaluation, and that if the grand jury indicts her, they’ll move on from there.
* I hope the mental evaluation they’re talking about is for the husband.
* It sounds like Mr. Shepard really just needs someone to go to the grocery store for him.
* He said she can hardly put a grocery list together? Careful, you don’t want to make her mad.
* Oh wait, you already did that when she tried to have you killed.
* If he still loves her, the category is, “Why do fools fall in love?”
* Imagine her disappointment when she found out her husband was just faking his death?
* Maybe staying with her is just his way of rubbing her nose in it.
* Don’t worry. She won’t need to make a grocery list now. The prison cafeteria will take care of that.
* PHONE TOPIC: Can you believe I went back to this guy/gal after that?
