HUSBAND DRIVES OFF WHILE WIFE IS ON BATHROOM BREAK

In Thailand, a man named Boontom Chaimoon, and his wife, Amnuay Chaimoon, left on a road trip at 3 a.m. Sunday to spend the New Year with her family in Maha Sarakham Province. At one point, Mr. Chaimoon needed to take a pit stop and parked his car by the side of the road. While he was off relieving himself, Mrs. Chaimoon also decided to relieve herself in the jungle. She emerged from the jungle to discover her husband had driven off without her, leaving her alone on the side of the road in the dark. She started walking – twelve-and-a half-miles. She arrived at the next town at 5 a.m., whereupon she reported to the local police station. She didn’t know her husband’s cellphone number, and she had left her phone int he cars. Police called the number miltiple times, but the husband did not answer it, possibly because he didn’t hear it. It wasn’t until 8 a.m. that authorities finally managed to get hold of her husband, who by that time, had driven about 100 miles (160 km). He turned around to drive back to pick up his wife. When asked how he could have driven so far without noticing her absence, he said he thought she was in the backseat sleeping. He apologized to her profusely upon his return. Mrs. Chaimoon said they did not argue when he picked her up. She said that they’d been married for 27 years and had a 26-year-old son.
* And then: “Oh, my god! We left our son back at a gas station!”
* He had 200 miles and the best excuse he could come up with was “I thought she was asleep in the back”?
