HORSEY McHORSEFACE
Racehorse owner Joe Rosetti needed a name for a two-year-old gelding. He became inspired by the recent story of a British company asking the internet to name a new ship. In that case, the internet came up with Boaty McBoatface. So the name they picked for the horse: Horsey McHorseface. Racing manager Jake Bruce hopes it will generate interest in the racehorse’s career. “Any publicity is good publicity,” Bruce said. Horsey McHorseface is expected to make his racing debut next month.
* Expect an infringement lawsuit from Sarah Jessica Parker.
* Or Tory Spelling. Or both.
* “Any publicity is good publicity”? Wow, that could be the most naive quote in history.
* Never pick a name that track announcers would rather not say.
* “It’s Jack of Diamonds on the outside, putting pressure on Candyman, followed closely by … yet another horse …”
* Doesn’t every horse have a horseface?
* If they couldn’t think of a name, why not go with “Anonymous”?
* Remember why they couldn’t use the name for the new ship? Because Boaty McBoatface is already the code name for Queen Elizabeth, right?
* Well, Horsey McHorseface is already the code name for Camilla.
* At least it should be.
* Okay, that was mean but maybe that one was for Princess Diana.
