HEDGE FUNDER FIRED AFTER RAVER AT RENTED MANSION

Brett Barna, a hedge fund worker at Moore Capital Managment in New York City, has been fired after trashing a $20 million Bridgehampton home he rented from Airbnb last weekend. The owners of the estate, who declined to be named, rented the property to Barna on the assumption that he would be hosting a 50-person fundraiser for an animal charity. Instead, the owners said the party was like “was like ‘Jersey Shore’ meets a frat party” – a “Wolf of Wall Street”- style party where, according to the owner, little people were thrown into the pool, furniture was trashed, art was stolen, used condoms were discovered. So many people were there that the concrete around the pool crumbled and fell into the water. The owner intends to sue Mr. Bama for $1 million for damages. A spokesperson for Moore Capital Management said in a statement, “Mr. Barna’s personal judgment was inconsistent with the firm’s values. He is no longer employed by Moore Capital Management.”
* If this is supposed to make me feel sorry for all the millionaires involved, it isn’t working.
* Bet he still got a multi-million dollar severance.
* So this was like the OPPOSITE of a fundraiser.
* But they did act like animals.
* I don’t care how many people were there, the concrete around the pool shouldn’t just crumble.
* Maybe this was a shoddy mansion to begin with.
* “Mr. Barna’s judgement was inconsistent with the firm’s values”? Gee, pompous much?
* Yeah, that’s what drives most hedge funds: their values.
* That and the insatiable greed.
* PHONE TOPIC: Did you ever throw a party that got out of control?
