HEADS OF VATICAN’S CHOIR ACCUSED OF EMBEZZLEMENT

Two heads of the Vatican’s Sistine Chapel Choir are accused of stealing funds from the group. The Vatican confirmed it has launched an investigation into the two men – a manager, who is a layman, and a director, who is a priest. The two are accused of taking money from concerts performed by one of the world’s oldest singing groups – founded in 1471 – and funneling it into a private bank account for personal expenses.
* Founded in 1471. Still not as old as the Rolling Stones, though.
* Does the Vatican really not pay enough that its employees need to steal?
* You’d think there would, literally, be an angel on their shoulder telling them not to do it.
* It’s a good thing this doesn’t happen at the local level, y’know, with all those thousands and thousands of congregations filling millions of baskets with untraceable cash.
* Maybe all these scandals are God’s way of telling the church it’s time to lock up and go home?
