GUY TAKES CAB TO ROBBERY OF ADULT STORE

Amarillo, Texas, police say an adult store was robbed Tuesday by a man who appeared to have a gun. The clerk saw the suspect arrive and leave in a taxi. Officers located the cab and arrested 46-year-old Duane Lamont Alexander. Police say the cabbie, who was not charged, told officers he took Alexander to the business, waited as requested and left when the suspect returned to the taxi. A bag of stolen cash was recovered from the cab.
* What do you suppose the cab driver thought when the guy pulled up to the adult store and told him, “Wait here, I’ll be back in 60 seconds”?
* “So, I’m guessing that bag of cash is not my tip?”
* “Is that a gun in your pocket, or are you just enjoying the covers of the magazines?”
* You’ve got Amarillo, Texas. You’ve got a robbery and a lonely man. There’s almost enough for a country song here.
* Hey, it makes more sense then some of the getaway vehicles we read about.
* And yes, I am talking about the bank robber in the wheelchair from the other day.
* Then there’s the robbers who walk a block, then go into a restaurant and order lunch.
* We still haven’t had anyone flee a robbery on a pogo stick, but I’m sure it’s just a matter of time.
