GRAY HAIR? YOU’RE GOING TO DIE *

According to a study recently presented at EuroPrevent 2017, gray hair is linked to an increased risk of heart disease in men. Researchers assessed how common gray hair was in patients with coronary artery disease, and whether it was a risk factor. Here’s what they found:
– People who had equal parts of their natural hair color and white or gray hair had a higher risk of coronary artery disease than their counterparts who had no or little gray hair.
– People who were diagnosed with heart disease also had a statistically significant higher likelihood of having gray or white hair than those who didn’t have heart disease.
Researchers says that atherosclerosis, a condition in which there is buildup of fat, cholesterol, and other matter on a person’s artery walls, and graying hair have similar mechanisms. SO, if you’re getting gray – especially prematurely – you might want to check those arteries.
* Okay, everyone: Let’s all panic.
* I’m no nitwit researcher, but aren’t higher risk of coronary artery disease and gray hair both just part of getting older?
* In other words, gray hair and an increased risk of heart disease are also linked to a higher chance that someone calls you “Grampa.”
* It’s a simple concept really: Dye your hair or you’re going to die.
* Wait, before we all freak out, define “increased risk.”
* Finally, a good thing about going bald.
