FRENCH SOCCER FANS TRAVEL TO WRONG CITY

A group of French co-workers who are fans of France’s national soccer team wanted to see their team play against Hungary in the current World Cup playoffs. The six fans landed on Saturday with tickets to see the game, only to eventually discover that they had flown to Bucharest, Romania, while the game was being held in Budapest, Hungary, more than 500 miles away. The tour company allegedly blamed the guys for not knowing the difference. Said one, “We need to learn more about Europe.”
* I don’t ever want to be lectured about how dumb Americans are ever again.
* On the bright side, there was a Jumbo-Tron in the airport.
* If only… oh, I don’t know… if only the location had been printed somewhere on the stadium tickets.
* What’s French for “Dumb and Dumber, and Dumber and Dumber and Dumber and Dumber”?
* Isn’t Romania where Romaine lettuce comes from?
* One of Romania’s favorite national pastimes is figuring out how to LEAVE the country.
(NOTE: By the way, the game ended in a 1-1 tie, so even if they had been there it would’ve been a “wasted” trip!)
* PHONE TOPIC: “I showed up at the wrong place at the wrong time.”
