FRENCH ASKED TO EAT MORE CHEESE

First, the Belgians were asked to eat more potatoes to save farmers from having to destroy their crops. Now, the French are being asked to eat more cheese, as if that’s possible. Sales of cheese are plummeting during the pandemic. Thousands of tons of “fromage” may be thrown away because cheesemakers can no longer sell to restaurants, and with open-air markets also shut, sales of cheese are down as much as 60 per cent. The cheese industry has launched a campaign to encourage people to start buying, called “Fromagissons” (Let’s act for cheese).
* How about putting the Belgian potatoes with the French cheese – scalloped potatoes!
* The French are not only being asked to self-quarantine, they’re being asked to self-constipate.
