FORGET UBER RIDES AND LIME SCOOTERS. THE FUTURE IS POGO STICKS
You need to get around town, what do you do? Call Uber, or Lyft? Maybe rent one of those electric scooters or bicycles? How about this: a pogo stick. Cangoroo is a pogo stick-sharing startup that hails from Stockholm, Sweden. It operates on the same basis as Bird and Lime, with users paying based on their usage. The company brands it is as a product you can actually use for last-mile transportation. They also envision the pink pogo sticks being used by millennials as a “shared fitness product” and “a fun way to get some fitness in your daily life.” The company plans to test the market in Stockholm and Malmo with 100 pogo sticks, and see how it goes before spreading to other cities.
* That’s thinking outside the box. A jack-in-the-box, maybe, but still …
* They know walking is faster than pogo-stick jumping, right?
* I hope each pogo stick comes with a helmet, and a cup. Right, guys?
* I’m sorry – that last sentence should read “The company plans to test the market in Stockholm and Malmo with 100 pogo sticks, and see how it completely fails before throwing away any more money.”
* Finally – a transportation device that you can look even stupider on than a Segway.
