FOR SALE: FLINTSTONE CITY

Bedrock City, a Flintstones-themed park and campground in Williams, Arizona, is for sale. Bedrock City is located 30 miles south of the Grand Canyon. Established in 1972, the family business has a gift shop, restaurant, RV park and convenience store. Holly Hulen, the daughter of the owner, Linda Speckels, says her 73-year-old mother is selling the property – which was built by her husband – because she is ready to retire. The site contains many buildings and statues that look exactly like what you expect Bedrock to look like, if it were built by a guy from Arizona in the 1970’s with no artistic ability whatsoever. With 30 acres, the seller says redevelopment opportunities could include a casino, resort, time shares or an outlet mall. The license agreement with Hanna-Barbera is not a part of the sale and would need to be renegotiated.
* The tough part is driving there using your feet instead of an engine.
* Plus when you go out the back doors, they lock behind you.
* Maybe they should just bomb it back to the Stone Age.
* Sorry, I’m saving up to buy Carhenge.
* I just wonder if the owner’s daughter is as sexy as Wilma?
* You know what they’ll shout if it sells, right? Yabba Dabba Doo!
* I see my spell check function isn’t a big fan of the Flintstones.
* Uh oh. There’s another big problem: Dino the pet dinosaur isn’t housebroken.
* PHONE TOPIC: Have you ever stayed there?
