FLORIDA MAN DRIVES FLAMING CAR DOWN HIGHWAY – Jan 28
60-year-old Florida Man Patrick Rinaldi was arrested on suspicion of DUI after witnesses reported seeing him driving his burning sedan down a Melbourne, Florida, highway. Mr. Rinaldi was seen stopping his heavily smoking vehicle, then getting back behind the wheel and driving off as it caught fire. After driving a short distance, he stopped again, with the flames taking over the vehicle, then resumed driving. Eventually, he stopped and managed to escape but was “barely able to help his wife” get out of the burning car. Deputies say Rinaldi smelled of alcohol and was slurring his words, with bloodshot, watery eyes. He allegedly told them he had had only one beer earlier, but a bottle of liquor was found on the car’s floorboard. Meanwhile, a fire crew was called to put out a roadside brush fire they believe was sparked by the burning car.
* What kind of car was it? A Chevy Blazer?
* Maybe he thought the wind would blow out the flames.
* Talk about burning up the road.
* Just doing his part to keep Florida warm during this cold spell.
