FISHERMEN ARE 676 FISH OVER THE LIMIT
Half a dozen anglers from Indiana visited a northwestern Minnesota lake and exceeded their limit of sunfish and crappies by 676 fish. An anonymous tip led officers to Upper Cormorant Lake, where the anglers were found with a total of 856 fish in their possession. The group from Bedford, Indiana, had already filleted and frozen most of the fish before officers arrived.The six adults were charged with misdemeanors. If they’re convicted they could face a fine and restitution of five dollars per fish, which comes to $3,380 in restitution alone.
* Well, that’s crappie.
* But that’s the scales of justice for you.
* At some point, you’d think they’d have run out of bait. Or hooks. Or room in the boat.
* This wasn’t a group from Red Lobster, was it? Maybe this is how they get their fish for the restaurant.
* I’m just impressed there were still that many fish IN the lake.
* Or at least there used to be.
* Here we’re focusing on crime in New York, Washington, and Los Angeles and we should have been watching Bedford, Indiana.
* If they think those fish got filleted wait till they see what happens to the defendants in court.
