FAMILY UNPLUGS RELATIVE’S VENTILATOR TO PLUG IN AIR CONDITIONER
In Rajasthan, northern India, a severely ill coronavirus patient has died after his family disconnected his ventilator so they could plug in an air conditioner. The man was being treated in an Intensive Care Unit when his relatives came to visit him last Monday night. While sitting in his hospital room they began feeling hot, so they unplugged his ventilator from the power source, and plugged in a portable air cooler they had brought with them. Sometime later the ventilator’s battery ran out and the patient’s condition quickly deteriorated. Doctors performed CPR but could not save the man, and he died. The family then reportedly yelled at the hospital staff after his death.
* They bought a portable air conditioner, buy didn’t spring for a power strip.
* They started yelling at the doctors, and then said, “Wait – can we do this back in the room where it’s cooler?”
* So – this is what you do in India? Carry around your own portable air cooler when you go out? How about a mini-fridge full of beer and a popcorn machine?
* Also, just to point out, the man had coronavirus, in the ICU, and the hospital LET THE WHOLE FAMILY IN TO SEE HIM.
* And these are the people facing off China with nuclear weapons.
* Worst Father’s Day ever.
