FAMILY CAT MAILED TO ALBERTA

A Nova Scotia family was reunited with their cat Saturday a week after the animal crawled into a box mailed to Alberta. Purolator employees discovered the cat in Montreal and called the local SPCA, which tracked down its owners. Jacqueline Lake had been searching for her family’s one-year-old cat for four days when she got the call. She and her family thought the cat might have escaped while the kids were leaving for school. They put up flyers and went around the neighborhood. Lake guessed that the cat, Baloo, (* Cat Baloo!) had crawled into a package containing a tire rim in the hour before she shipped it off. She thought it was strange that one of the packages weighed 10 pounds more than the others, but dismissed it as a possible problem with the rims. A network of volunteers drove Baloo from Alberta to his home.
* And then the cat got home and STILL refused to eat what they put out for him.
* Well, it WAS a male/mail cat.
* It was shipped via Purr-olator.
* Should have put up posters over a wider area.
* Meanwhile… has anyone seen grandma lately?
* Merry Christmas… tire rims?
* “Dude, your tire rim just got here. And I gotta tell you – it smells FUNKY!”
* Meanwhile, the cat’s thinking, “Well, it ALMOST worked!”
