ELEPHANT WALKS INTO A CHINESE RESTAURANT

A wild elephant wandered into a Chinese inn and spent about four hours feasting on corn and oranges in the kitchen. Xu Hongwei, owner of the inn in Yunnan Province, asked his guests to remain on the second floor when the elephant wandered inside about 4:30 a.m. Saturday. The elephant is known to locals from previous incidents where it wandered near to homes in search of food. Officials allowed the elephant to safely leave on its own. There were no injuries to elephant or humans, but it did leave a big mess behind at the inn.
* Do they mean “big mess” as in “Somebody grab a mop”?
* So, everyone’s vacation was truncated.
* It stuck around eating for four hours? So, like relatives on Thanksgiving.
* Ironically, everyone at the restaurant had to order in Chinese food.
* I bet not one fortune cookie said, “You will have to avoid an elephant today.” (“In bed.”)
