DRUNK SPENDING

A study by the personal finance website Finder.com claims that Americans spent $39.4 billion on spontaneous drunken purchases in the past year. That’s a significant step up from the $30.4 billion the previous year. According to the site:
– 26% of the people surveyed admitted to making a purchase while they’ve been drinking.
– Men are spending more than women, averaging $870 per year.
– Millennials are averaging $1,047 in drunken spending per year (as opposed to $466 for baby boomers and $469 for Generation X).
* Was Finder.com drunk when they made up these numbers?
* I say that as a proud owner of about a dozen Ginsu knives.
* Never buy anything online unless you can recite the alphabet backwards.
* This is online purchases, so it doesn’t include real-life drunk purchases like tattoos.
* The dollar amounts are probably higher – a lot of people were too drunk to answer the survey phone call.
* You know the worst drunk buyers? The airline guys who bought all the Boeing Max 8 jetliners.
* PHONE TOPIC: What have you bought while drunk?
