DRIVE THRU WORKER RECOGNIZES MECHANICS IN HIS CAR

Four hours after dropping his car off at a Nissan dealership in Riverside, California, for testing, Randy Jones was working at his job manning the drive-thru lane of a Taco Bell restaurant. One of his cashiers said, “Randy, hey look, your car is on drive through.” Jones took a look, and sure enough, it was two mechanics from the dealership bringing his car through the drive-thru. Jones called the dealership right away. They offered him 20 percent off any services, waived the charges for the test, and offered to pay more than $3,000 worth of parts and labor. Still, Jones said he was not happy. “No, I’m not, because at the end of the day, my car, it was still vandalized,” he said. “I don’t know what those gentlemen could have done in my car.” The service manager at Raceway Nissan said that the two mechanics have been terminated. The dealer says they have strict rules in place and added that the two employees were two miles off the designated route service technicians are ordered to take for diagnosis tests.
* Can you blame him? Who wants their car recognized going through a Taco Bell drive-thru?
* “The car works great now, honey, but why is there a burrito smell?”
* What more does this guy want? The mechanics to be flogged? Beheaded?
* “Two guys doing a test drive went a little out of their way for some food so they could get back to the shop and keep working on my car. That’s VANDALIZING, I tell ya! Waaaaah!”
* Guy’s got a pretty highfalutin attitude for a drive-thru clerk.
* Good luck getting any service shop in your town to ever touch your car again.
* “Randy Jones? That guy in the news who caused all that trouble for Raceway Nissan? Sorry, no openings. For the rest of this century.”
* I’d say relax and take the 3 grand off the bill.
* Wait a sec … how could they run up a bill that great in just 4 hours, especially when the car was still running?
* What did they do? Put on new solid gold windshield wipers?
* Let’s just hope this doesn’t hurt the reputation of all the honest mechanics out there. There are some honest ones out there, right?
