DON’T SPANK YOUR SNOWFLAKE

The American Academy of Pediatrics says spanking makes kids more aggressive and raises the risk of mental health issues. Verbal abuse and humiliation is also counterproductive, the pediatrics group said. In its revised set of guidelines, the Association says, “Parents, other caregivers, and adults interacting with children and adolescents should not use corporal punishment (including hitting and spanking), either in anger or as a punishment for or consequence of misbehavior, nor should they use any disciplinary strategy, including verbal abuse, that causes shame or humiliation.”
* In fact, if you want to punish your child, your supposed to take them to Chuck. E. Cheese.
* Don’t any of these Academy members have kids?
* Looks like the Kids Lobby finally got to the American Academy of Pediatrics.
* No corporal punishment, no verbal abuse, no shaming, no humiliation. That leaves ice cream.
* At least they waited until AFTER that Texas mom belt-whipped her 13-year-old kid for stealing her BMW.
* Talk about taking all the fun out of parenting.
