DOGS CAN SMELL THE COVID

According to a new study out of Finland, dogs can detect COVID-19 in humans quicker and more accurately than the gold-standard nasal swab. Finnish scientist Dr. Anna Hielm-Björkman has been testing the disease-detecting doggos on travelers at Helsinki Airport. She says the dogs have identified a number of people who had the virus but had tested negative after taking the nasal tests. Days after the dogs diagnosed the travelers, the supposedly negative passengers started experiencing symptoms. This suggests that the dogs may be able to sniff out the virus at the very beginning stages of infection. Other researchers, from France to Lebanon to the United Arab Emerates, are reporting the same results with their trained dogs.
* Not bad, if you can stand a dog sticking his tongue completely up your nostril.
* Just kidding, they sniff you. Unfortunately, they sniff your crotch and your butt.
* If you’re going to get COVID, who better to break the news to you than a sweet, adorable doggy?
* Not only do they detect the COVID, but they’ll let you know if you have hemorrhoids.
* There’s one thing they have to work on, though: to signal that the person has COVID, the dog rolls over and plays dead.
