CUSTOMER LEAVES $1,000 TIP, ASKS FOR IT BACK THE NEXT DAY
A happy customer left a $1,000 tip at the Thailicious restaurant in Edgewater, Colorado last weekend. The waiter took the money – in cash – straight to owner Bee Anantatho. Even though tips are shared among all the servers, Anantatho told her crew they should hold on to the money, just in case he came back. And he did, the very next day, the moment the restaurant opened. Anantatho says “He said, ‘I’m sorry, I was drunk.’” He didn’t know he’d left all the money he had as a tip. Some of the bills were $100 bills, and she suspected he might have thought they were $1 bills. He ended up giving her $100 – the cost of a $60 dinner and a $40 tip.
* The dinner might have been “Thailicious,” but it wasn’t $1,000 woth of Thailicious.
* More like “Thai One On-licious.”
* Way to take some personal responsibility.
* He’ll just blow it on more drinks tonight.
* This teaches a valuable lesson: Enabling drunk people is always the best policy.
* That way they’ll never get the help they need.
* Gee, a few more drinks and he would’ve forgotten what restaurant he was at.
* Or you can show some tough love and keep the tip.
* PHONE TOPIC: Did you ever have to go ask for something back?
