CREW FILMING HOUSTON PROMOTIONAL VIDEO ROBBED AT GUNPOINT
A film production company was robbed at gunpoint while shooting a video promoting the city of Houston. The men were filming a “We love Houston” sign when they were approached by another man who pulled out a gun and robbed them. The suspect ran off with their equipment. The film crew followed the suspect in their car but eventually lost track of him. The suspect never realized he was caught on camera during the robbery. One of the cameras, a Go-Pro, managed to capture him taking off with the expensive camera equipment. The film crew turned the footage over to the police and hopes it can help detectives track down the suspect.
* They just changed the sign to “We still love Houston despite everything.”
* After this, I don’t think the promotional video is going to help much.
* Hopefully they can re-edit it and sell it to some other city.
* The only way this could have had a good ending is if it was a video trying to persuade more criminals to move to Houston.
* The campaign has now been changed to “Houston – Bad, But Still Not As Bad As Detroit.”
* The film crew followed the suspect in their car? Wow, they care way more about their job than I do.
* How does that reasoning work? “He has a gun and he just robbed us. Let’s follow him.”
* “Yeah, if we corner him he’ll have no choice but to shoot us.”
* “Darn, we lost track of him. Oh well. Let’s go back to the hotel and get drunk.”
