COP JUMPS ON HOOD OF RANDOM MOVING CAR TO CHASE SUSPECT – Mar 23

An Oklahoma cop jumped on the hood of a stranger’s car and then hung on while directing the driver to chase a suspect. Video shows the officer jumping out of his squad car to race after a 17-year-old suspect on a minibike when he spots the passing motorist and makes the decision to catch a ride. He hops on, hangs on and yells, “Go! Go! Go! Go! Go!” His bodycam shows him hanging on the front of the car while pointing his fingers to help direct the driver, who floors it after the runaway biker. Once close, the cop jumps off the car and tackles the teenager. Afterwards, the cop said of the unidentified driver, “What an outstanding citizen — he gave me a ride.” Police say the suspect, along with another teen on a minibike, were riding without headlights.
* Seems like driving with someone hanging on to your car would be a slightly worse offense.
* GOLLY! Thank god they got those hardened headlight-non-using criminals off the street.
* Thank you Officer TJ Hooker.
* Did he think he could run faster than his police car? Actually … I’ve had cars like that.
* Let’s count the number of times the cop made a bad decision: 1) He jumped out of his vehicle to pursue a suspect on a motorized vehicle. 2) He commandeered a private vehicle. 3) He endangered himself by riding on the hood. 4) He endangered the public by telling the driver to enter a police chase. 5) He was going after a kid on a minibike for riding without a headlight for Chrissakes.
* It’s Oklahoma, he’s gonna get a medal out of this. What else do they have to do there?
