CLEANING WOMAN ELECTED MAYOR

Povalikhino is a small town in rural Russia. The town’s mayor, Nikolai Loktev, was running for re-election, but he was the only person on the ballot and the law requires at least two. So, he asked the cleaning woman at the administration offices to be the other name on the ballot. She won, beating him in a landslide, with 62% of the vote. 35-year-old Marina Udgodskaya is now the mayor. She is stunned by her win, describing herself as a “fake” candidate who was “not ready” for such rapid promotion.
* A lot of people think that happened here in 2016.
* To bad they didn’t have a debate. Those always help.
* At least now they have a mayor who’s ready to clean up the town.
* She’s gonna start by sweeping out the current administration. Literally.
