CHINESE WORKERS MADE TO CRAWL IN STREET AS PUNISHMENT
Workers from a Chinese cosmetics company were made to crawl on the street after failing to reach their annual targets. The workers – all women – were on all fours as they made their way through the busy traffic of Tengzhou Monday afternoon. The group were led by a male supervisor, who was walking while holding a large flag that bore the name of the firm. People who witnessed the scene were outraged, and police soon arrived at the scene and demanded the leader of the team stop the punishment. In China, employers are not allowed to humiliate or give corporal punishment to workers. Nevertheless, many Chinese companies have been known for carrying out public humiliation rituals as punishment, from crawling on the streets to worm-eating.
* And the punishments will continue until morale improves!
* The worm-eaters are going, “I could have just crawled on the street?”
* While they were crawling, did they get to stop at any pubs?
* Don’t give our sales manager here any ideas.
* Meanwhile, across the street at the iPhone factory, there’s no public humiliation. If you don’t reach your target, you’re simply never seen again.
